Still We Rise: Queer & Trans Defiance — The Panel & Closing Celebration

In a cultural climate where queer and trans stories are constantly challenged, our art becomes our sanctuary, our community, and our defiance.

Join the Fabulous Arts Foundation at the new 925 Maddox Gallery, Studios, and LGBTQIA+ Center for a landmark evening celebrating our current exhibition, Still We Rise: Queer & Trans Defiance. This special event combines an intimate, live artist panel discussion with our official exhibition closing reception.

We will bring together several of the featured exhibition artists for a moderated, grounded conversation exploring creative resistance, intersectional identity, and the vital role of permanent, physical safe spaces on the Suncoast. Following the panel, stay for the reception to connect with the artists, view the gallery, and stand in solidarity with the community.

While this event serves as our main community celebration, the exhibition will remain on the walls for one final week of public viewing until it officially closes on August 1st.

Come celebrate local queer and trans excellence, experience the power of art as protest, and see how we are building a permanent home for intersectional care and creativity in Sarasota.
