GOOD TROUBLE: QT Art Social

  • Fabulous Arts Foundation 925 North Lime Avenue Sarasota, FL, 34237 United States (map)

Brews, local art, and real conversation. Join us for a monthly drop-in coffee house and gallery space celebrating local trans and queer art.

Welcome to GOOD TROUBLE, a monthly gallery-and-gathering space hosted at the 925 Maddox Gallery & LGBTQIA+ Center. Designed to celebrate local trans and queer artists, spark authentic conversation, and foster in-person connection over a great cup of coffee or tea, this space is built for our community to gather safely and comfortably.

Whether you're looking for a cozy spot to work remotely, want to browse work from local LGBTQ+ creators, or hope to connect with fellow neighbors and community partners—there is always a seat at the table for you.

Drop in for 20 minutes or stay for the whole afternoon!

What to Expect

  • The "Spilled Tea" & Coffee Bar: Free specialty coffee, loose-leaf teas, and cozy brews available all afternoon.

  • Featured Art Gallery: Rotating gallery walls showcasing work, prints, and pieces from local trans & queer artists. Purchasing art directly supports local creators (70%) while helping keep our community center running (30%).

  • Volume: Operating right out of the 925 Maddox Gallery & LGBTQ+ Center, VOLUMEis an independent, community-driven retail space designed to amplify the physical output of local queer and trans creators.

  • The Collaborative Canvas: Pick up a marker, paintbrush, or zine sheet and leave your mark on our monthly community art piece.

  • Low-Key Vibe: Good music, comfortable seating, high-speed Wi-Fi, and low-pressure conversation starters.

Event Flow & Schedule

  • 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Afternoon Remote Lounge: Bring your laptop or book, grab a pour-over, and enjoy a quiet, creative space to work, study, or read.

  • 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Civic & Community Meet: A prime window for local partners, leaders, allies, and neighbors to drop in, connect with our team, and learn more about our work.

  • 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM | After-Hours Social & Artist Spotlight: Upbeat tunes, coffee house energy, and open conversation to wind down your Friday.

Community Support & Grant Acknowledgment

This program is made possible with generous support from CenterLink and Hingethrough the Building Capacity & Fostering Connections grant initiative, aimed at encouraging meaningful in-person social connection and reducing isolation within the LGBTQ+ community.

While admission is 100% free and open to all, voluntary donations are always welcomed to support ongoing local trans & queer community programming, mutual aid, and center services.

Accessibility & Space Care

  • Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, main floor space, and restrooms.

  • Restrooms: All-gender restrooms are available on-site.

  • All Ages: Open to all ages and allies in the community.
